Working Shop Supervisor

The purpose of this position is to maintain quality and production within a shop environment while also coaching and training mechanics based on individual department needs. The best candidate will have the communication skills necessary to inform all parties of the current status of any equipment issues that may arise.

Job Details for Shop Supervisor:
2nd shift - 2:00pm - 11:30pm
Must have weekend flexibility
$42,000 - $60,000 based on previous experience
Direct Hire position!

Job Responsibilities for Shop Supervisor:
Equipment Maintenance

  • Trains and works with mechanics on equipment repair
  • Ensures equipment is repaired in a timely manner
  • Verifies completion of Federal DOT and PA State inspections


  • Orders parts and enters parts into software system daily
  • Responsible for ensuring drivers have access to all items needed for the job
  • Maintains organization of parts in their correct location


  • Conducts 30-day, 90-day, and yearly evaluations for new hires and shop personnel
  • Trains and coaches shop employees daily to ensure growth and knowledge of equipment maintenance
  • Consults with management team and HR when termination of an employee is deemed appropriate


  • Takes part in monthly meetings to determine ways to save money and increase tire life
  • Reviews tire inventory daily


  • Pulls trucks and trailers in and out of the shop when stickers need to be updated
  • Ensures that mechanics maintain a clean and organized work area when repair work is completed

Job Requirements for Shop Supervisor:

  • High School Diploma and 1-3 years of supervisory experience
  • 5-10 years of mechanical experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and abilities
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
