Job Details for the Purchasing Manager:

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
  • Pay Rate: $90,000-100,000 annual salary

Job Responsibilities & Description for the Purchasing Manager:

  • Buyer Activities: procuring goods and services, for example, raw materials, consumables, small equipment, tools, parts, supplies.
  • Reviews and processes requisitions for correct authorization and vendor selection. Confers with vendors to obtain product service information, for example, price, availability, and delivery schedule.
  • Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items and/or feedback from Plant personnel and management.
  • Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with Quality Control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine the source of trouble and take corrective action ensuring prompt resolution and return.
  • Maintain an open purchase order report with accurate open orders.

Job Requirements for the Purchasing Manager:

  • Bachelor degree or higher in related field
  • Must have 5-10 years of experience in purchasing- primarily manufacturing
  • Must have ability to read blueprints & engineering documents
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including public speaking, negotiations, and leadership
